G4

Most of us are aware of all the trends and advice regarding healthy living.  We are constantly told that the ingredients to a healthy body are a balance of rest, diet, and exercise.  However, it can get confusing as to how to start, what to do when you get started, and what plan to get started with.  Often times confusion sets in closely followed by discouragement which results in doing nothing toward developing a healthier lifestyle.

In a similar fashion many Christians are often overwhelmed by the many thousands of voices on how to be a Christian and what to do to remain one.  Many want to know “What does God expect of me?  What does the Bible say to me personally?  What specifically should I be doing that will help me develop a strong faith in Christ?”

So, using the “healthy body” alliteration, we have developed a simple formula which will help you position yourself to become a healthy, growing, producing follower of Jesus Christ.  Notice I said “position” yourself.  It is important to understand that only God orchestrates change in our life.  However, we must take the time and make the effort to position ourselves so that we can receive from Him the work that He desires to do in our lives.  The Bible gives clear guidelines as to what the positions are which develop a strong, healthy, Christian walk.

They (the Christians) devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Act 2:42-47

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19

The following links provide the basics of these spiritual positions in what we are calling G4©.   G4© explains the need for every Christian to Gather  in fellowship with other believers; The need to Grow from the teaching and preaching of God’s Word; The need to Give  to others with our resources; The need to Go  by serving God with our Spiritual Gifts.

Within each of the four elements of G4© are several options to choose from.  We encourage all of our people to involve themselves in at least one area of each G.  Doing so provides the basics of a well-rounded diet that will contribute to a healthy spiritual lifestyle.

Before you begin your journey….

Don’t miss this important point.  No formula alone can help a person find purpose in this life and hope for the after-life.  The Bible clearly teaches that it is only through Jesus Christ that any person can be assured of a heavenly reward.  If you would like to know more about how to receive eternal life through Jesus Christ, feel free to contact us.  We are here to assist you in any way we can.
