Part of being a healthy Christian is being generous.  Generosity has always been a hallmark of the Christian Church.  From the beginning days of the church, believers have been generous people.   God continues to challenge us to be givers.  One way is through the giving of tithes (Malachi 3:10).  It is through the giving of tithes and offerings that the local church is sustained.   The means of generosity, however, extends beyond the local church.  Opportunities to generous include the simple act of tipping well in a restaurant, giving sacrificially towards mission efforts around the world, or taking a meal to a person who is homebound.  The possibilities are endless.  Simply put, we encourage all Christians to give their tithes at the basic level and increase their giving as God blesses them.
