Site Plan/Concept

Site Plan Concept for New Construction

After months and even years, we are prepared to present a site plan for our congregation and other interested parties to view.  But first some exciting bit of news.  Recently we were informed that with careful planning, there is space available for not only the construction of an education/ministry building, but also a worship facility.  This is a breath of fresh air to all of us for various reason.  With that said, it is still the opinion of the Church Board that due to our limited space, a future worship center should be multi-purpose in nature.  In other words, what we build to worship in will not only be conducive for worship, but also for various other events including but not limited to concerts, banquets, community meetings, etc.  We continue to believe that it is not good stewardship for us to build a dedicated worship facility which will be used only once or even twice a week for Worship.  It is important for us to emphasize, however, that this worship center will provide a much improved worship environment then that of the gym.  I know we will all be proud of the end result.

Education/Ministry Building
Our primary emphasis will be the construction of the education/ministry building.  This structure will include much needed Sunday School space, new and vibrant Children's Ministry area, administrative offices, new restrooms, foyer space, and so much more.  In the days ahead, we will be giving all our members and opportunity to present their thoughts and ideas about this new project.

Multi-Ministry Worship Center
Unless a  donor of a large sum of money steps forward, we will be unable to build both an Education and Worship building at the same time.  Therefore, it only makes sense that these facilities will be built in phases with the Education/Ministry building being phase one, and the worship facility, phase 2. Phase 2 will begin when phase one is completed and we have adjusted to the new financial responsibilities attached.  God willing, it may be possible to move ahead with the second phase within 5 years of he completion of the first phase.  This we will leave in God's hands.

We want to remind everyone that the drawing below is only a site concept.  Locations and architecture may change slightly as concepts become reality.  In the meantime, the drawing gives a basic idea of what we are thinking.  It is a little blurry and we will work at improving the quality.  For now, you will see Center Street at the top, Scott Street to the right, and Faulkner Street at the bottom.  The lavender colored building is the Family Life Center, the tan building is the projected education building, and the blue building represents the future worship center (where the old sanctuary now sits).  We will soon enter the design phase where building and geography will be solidified.  You will be informed every step of the way including how we will pay for this project.

Please be in prayer for this massive undertaking.  Never forget that God will never lead us where His power and grace and Spirit can't keep us.
