Recommendations of the Church Board To the Congregation Regarding Facility Development: At a duely called meeting of the Church Board on November 19th, the following actions were recommended and passed unanimously:
Recommendation 1: Through many of hours of prayer and dialogue, it is the opinion of the Church Board that First Church of the Nazarene remain at its current location. Through the purchase of additional surrounding properties and the wise counsel of professional architects and engineers it is believed that our church can continue to enjoy sustainable growth, be a vital presence and have a viable ministry in the same.
Recommendation 2: That a new Education and Worship Facility be built
Recommendation 3: That the older building housing the current sanctuary and education area be razed to allow space for the new construction.
Recommendation 4: That the razing of the older facility be in conjunction with timelines associated with the construction of new facilities.
Note: The construction and/or razing of church facilities requires a 2/3 majority vote of church members who are 15 years of age and over. The vote pertaining to the above matters will be announced at a later date after the congregation has been fully informed of the details of this project and can vote in an informed fashion.
